i'm targetting men here but really this can be applied to everyone.
whats up with the texting, guys? have we come so far that we can't have a conversation that doesn't occur digitally? aim, facebook chat, email, skype...does anyone have a normal conversation anymore? what about FACE time? i am to blame for this too. i'm so accustom to texting that sometimes i get nervous calling people...CALLING FOR GOODNESS SAKES. there are few things less personal than having a phone conversation and THAT i can barely do. and leaving a voicemail? dont get me started.
yesterday i was at a bar with a friend and i recognized someone i had met awhile back. this gentleman was rather shy to begin with but in all my days i would never expect to get a text from this person that says "is that u????" really? you cant come up 4 feet and say hi? we have to text this convo? per usual, i TEXTED something sassy back and went on my merry way.
i'm going to be bold and say TECHNOLOGY HAS CREATED A RACE OF LAZY MEN.
i made a pact with a friend today...we will NOT become romantically involved with someone who we TEXT/CHAT/WHATEVER more than we see. real conversations and intimacy cannot be genuinely shared over these digital little sources. ya, that might be a rash statement but i think its true.
and thats all i have to say about this.
my next post needs to have pictures. tooooooo many words.
Did I text you that night? Haha whopps!
ReplyDeleteVery true though, caught red handed. Texting, facebooking, skyping its all used as a means to not be upfront and original. Guys default easily to this method of conversation so as to not "put themselves out there" trying to dip their toe in the waters of the unknown, rather then jump in. Then again talking to a girl you thinks super duper could potentially turn out awkward and you can choke on your words. But really, we will never know until we try.
Here's to reviving a revolution of confident, brave, vocally elegant men!
ha, that wasn't you that texted me.
ReplyDeletecheers to a new wave of confident, brave, vocally elegant men! woooo.
