"funny for a girl"

let me tell you a story.


last night i was sitting at the dining room table with good friends...lets call them lamey and sadam. as we were packing up things to go study at a coffee shop, i casually asked sadam,

so...seen my blog yet?

he answered with,

yeah it was pretty funny for a girl.

i wish i could say that i was shocked and horrified at these words and he begged for my forgiveness. "girls aren't as funny as boys" is a common statement that i've always heard and one i've heard even more since i've come to college. SPU offers many showcases of "humor" with date auction, fusion, whatever. no matter what the comedy assignment is, the same thing is always said "well, girls just aren't as funny as boys." so i've decided to fight this system with the only response i can think of: conclude my blog and give in. girls will never be as funny as boys nor will they be better at ANYTHING. sadam, you won this one.
