no one likes you avril lavigne

i'm spending the week in LA and one might say (judging from my collection of 'us weekly' and 'people') i have a "thing" for celebrity gossip. less of a thing, its more of an obsession. i'm staying with a darling friend who knows about my obsession and she and her friend have been keeping a look out for me. "brittney! LOOK! paparazzi!" "OMG wasn't that guy in a burger king commercial?" like a sucker i turn around every time aimed and ready with my point and shoot.

last night we went to hollywood to watch the MOST terrible and depressing robert pattinson movie. i hated it. go see it so we can talk about it and then write a hate letter to r. patz together. as we entered the theater, there were flashes everywhere so i was on the look out for a celeb. i saw about five 85 lb potential celebs but nothing to get excited about. our group decided to drown our sorrows from that horrible movie and head to a bar in hollywood.

i watched the door like a hawk for a potential famous person. NOTHING. not a beer commercial guy, not an extra from a jonah hill movie, NOT even lauren conrad who is apparently all up in the hollywood scene. suddenly that seemed to change.

shh quiet. dont look. avril lavigne just got here.

could it be? i turned around and saw a mini size child-adult wearing a hoodie and gothed out make up and knew it was true. she sat at a table we'd been eyeing and plopped down next to her emo (aka creepy) friends. at one point she laid down so no one would see her. then it hit me. who freaking cares about avril lavigne? a c list celebrity at best, i became annoyed that she THOUGHT we would care that much. she showed me how stupid the whole obsession was and so ends my search for celebs...

except my search for robert pattinson so i can punch him in the face for ruining my night with that terrible movie.

  1. Well Avril Lavigne was the best selling female artist in the world in 2007 per World Wide Albums: http://www.worldwidealbums.net/2007ye.htm , that was the last time she released and album. So yes I would say yes absolutely millions of people do care about Avril. In fact every album Avril Lavigne has released has gone multi-platinum for sales. Avril has won hundreds of awards and she is involved with numerous charities and she believes in giving back, so again yes many do care about Avril.

  2. I didn't know you could get paid to endorse Avril on public blogs Jim. That's a pretty sweet gig. I'm sure it gives you more time with the kids.

    With that said, calm down.

  3. Lol, please don't worry I am calm and I don't have kids, and no I don't get paid to endorse anyone; just like you probably don't get paid to write blogs to diss people you don't like. I am just a fan and I love Avril's second album "Under My Skin" and I think that she is a good artist, even though I hated her last album. I look forward to her new album coming out this year, hey at least we both like The Smiths :)
