my mom and i have a really unique relationship. we have always talked about things that most daughter would shy away from. drinking, drugs, sex. we talk about it all the time.
she read my last blog entry and was very upset. "you're too hard on men," she said, "no one is going to date you because of your bad reputation of being too judgmental." i've been thinking a lot about that. is it true? should you give "duds" more credit than you think they deserve and date them forever so as not to get a bad reputation?
i think about that advice and what INSANE creepster i'd be going on 6-18 months (ish) with if i listened to her. i've come to the conclusion that i'm currently at the age where i'm allowed to be picky. the LAST thing i want to do is settle or waste my time. as a girl, i would say that generally my first impression is always correct and to go on 7 dates with someone to spare their feelings seems harsh in the long run. i'm going to have to say sorry michelle. we may be close but this is one piece of advice i'm going to have to ignore.
